Prof. Tim Webster from the Nova Scotia Community College in Canada shared his insights into the calculation of underwater biomass from sea-bed vegetation with the Chiroptera II bathymetric LiDAR sensor and Alain Kabamba from Hexagon Geospatial introduced us to cloud-based solution that help storing large data.

On Friday we were welcomed by the ‘Future Talk’ panel followed by a presentation by Stephane Bovet from Swisstopo on their use of the Leica ADS100. The remainder of the Friday sessions focused on new workflows supporting the industry to produce 2D and 3D data products fast and efficiently.

As case study Eulália Soler from ICGC presented the production workflows used by the ICGC to generate 3D raster city models and the handling of the large data quantities.

Hexagon Imagery Program (HxIP)

John Welter, President of Leica Geospatial Solutions Division, presented on the highly innovative Hexagon Imagery Program (HxIP). The HxIP provides current and quality geospatial imagery through the cloud. This program offers on-demand valuable data and content for industry professionals in the form of orthorectified aerial imagery.

Apart from receiving the latest market updates, the attendees had plenty time to network and catch-up with industry colleagues, experience Catalonian food and enjoy Spanish entertainment.

On this note we would like to extend our thank you to the ICGC for the hospitality and all the attendees for their time and input and for making us strive towards a better future. We hope to welcome you again in 2017.
