Introducing the Leica X-PAD portfolio and the new Leica GS11 GNSS smart antenna for everyday surveying
The new portfolio combines trusted and easy-to-use X-PAD workflows with compatible Leica Geosystems instruments and connected services to support reliable, efficient surveying in the field.
HEERBRUGG, Switzerland, 14 September 2026 – Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, today unveiled the Leica X-PAD portfolio, combining field software, selected instruments, and connected services for everyday surveying work. The easy-to-use and flexible workflows that GeoMax customers have relied on for years are now at the core of the new portfolio.
Among the launch highlights is the new Leica GS11 GNSS smart antenna. The GS11 brings augmented reality (AR) guidance and image-based measurements into everyday fieldwork. Surveyors can navigate to points using a live view of the site, check what they have captured before they leave, and take measurements from captured images, including points they cannot safely or easily reach with a survey pole.
“A large part of surveying is the routine fieldwork that needs to be carried out to professional standards, often by teams with varying levels of experience,” says Elmar Lenz, Head of Business Line Surveying at Hexagon’s Geomatics Division. “Leica X-PAD is deliberately simple: it offers one clear workflow through the job, combined with instruments teams can depend on.”
The portfolio expands the Leica Geosystems surveying workflow range: Leica Captivate stands for maximum capability across any surveying project, Leica iCON focuses on construction workflows, and Leica X-PAD is the solution for a select set of everyday routine tasks.
See the job in context
Leica X-PAD lets field teams work with survey information in 2D, 3D, map, and site views, including drawings, surfaces, and BIM data. With the GS11, the software overlays stakeout guidance and design or captured data onto live site imagery and allows surveyors to measure additional points from captured images. Teams see where they need to go and confirm the job is complete before leaving the site, removing the need for return trips and rework.
One connected experience across instruments
Leica X-PAD provides a single software experience across compatible Leica Geosystems instruments. In addition to the new GS11, it also works with the Leica GS05 GNSS smart antenna and the Leica TS13 robotic total station.
Leica X-PAD Fusion extends the same workflow into the office. Hexagon GeoCloud handles field-to-office data exchange, and Hexagon SmartNet provides GNSS positioning services. Together they give a team one route from the first measurement to the finished deliverable.
Familiar X-PAD workflows continue
Leica X-PAD builds on X-PAD technology trusted by GeoMax users. Development will continue with ongoing support for both Leica Geosystems and GeoMax instruments. GeoMax products remain available for purchase, and technical service continues. Our trusted GeoMax partners will join forces with the Leica Geosystems network to bring Leica X-PAD to market.
The new Leica X-PAD portfolio will be available in select countries in 2026, with broader availability in 2027.
