Leica iCON pave concrete

Leica iCON machine control system for 3D concrete paving

Leica iCON pave

Get your paving jobs done faster, more efficiently, and right the first time with the concrete paving solutions of Leica iCON! With decades of experience in 3D paving solutions, Leica Geosystems offers smart digital solutions for optimised and efficient paving production with our all-in-one Leica MC1 machine control software. The simple and intuitive user interface provides an easy adaption to any job site conditions and operator, while the solution allows a combination of different setups to achieve your desired end results. Whether with total stations only, dual GNSS only, or a combination of both technologies (1UP setup), the results will amaze you!

One-for-all

Leica Geosystems offers one software and one hardware platform for all 3D machine control applications. The cable-free Leica MCP80 panel allows the operator to easily swap panel from one machine to another. Even to different types of machines, when the respective MC1 licenses are available. The in-house developed and manufactured MSS400 series sensors maintain excellent machine performance under all conditions and are easily interchangeable between machines, bringing more versatility and higher equipment utilisation to your heavy construction machinery fleet.

Share data seamlessly

Transfer and share your data seamlessly with integrated solutions from Leica Geosystems. Project files from Leica ConX are synchronised with the Leica MC1 software and the iCON site software solutions. Thanks to the auto-synced production logging, project managers gain near real-time visibility to the work progress and developments on site. While paving related data are available in the office for reporting, the solution supports a two-way communication. Design files can be sent or updated instantly and seamlessly through ConX.

Concrete paving features

Leica iCON pave has a set of features to optimise paving jobs to the maximum. When used with total stations, the "Smart spare" and "Auto leapfrogging" allow a continuous operation without interruption due to wrong target locking, total station blocking and repositioning. With the "Fire by Leica" feature (option on some OEMs), Leica MC1 can auto-send a CAN message when the dowel bars should be placed in the concrete, based on the design file that indicated their position.

Reduce your CO2 footprint

The pressure to run more sustainable operations increases by the day. Using smart digital solutions from Leica Geosystems in your paving jobs, help you reduce emission and manage machines and materials more efficiently. The Leica iCON pave helps reduce rework – meaning less fuel and emissions. Additionally, CO2-heavy material that are used for paving are properly used to the right amount and waste is kept to a minimum.

Leica Smart Spare feature

The Leica Smart Spare feature is available for concrete and asphalt paving. It is used for intelligent management of the spare total station to enable continuous paving. It allows quick reassignment of the spare total stations, and speeds to process of locking or re-locking to correct prism.

Leica Auto Leapfrogging feature

Leapfrogging is the method of transferring measurement of a machine prism from one total station to another, to ensure a continuous paving operation without a stop in laying the concrete mix. This is usually required when the machine has reached a predetermined distance from the robot, e.g. 100m (300') or when an obstacle blocks the line of sight to the prism.
